Does the Google business intrigue you? Would you like to know how to make money with Google AdSense?

Well, the secret lies in various online advertising programs. And one of the most popular programs is the ‘ADSENSE’ PROGRAM. AdSense program works by serving ‘targeted’ ads on websites. Whenever someone visits your website, those ads are displayed and you earn $$$$s. If someone clicks on those Ads, you again earn $$$$s. This means that once you have setup your website with AdSense ads, the flow of revenue is automatic without you doing anything else. Of course, if you do a little bit of tracking and performance analysis of your AdSense ads, you can enhance your profits many times.

AdSense is an online advertising program that is run by Google .
(the specialists in search engine technologies) This program is different from the other advertising programs in the sense that here the ads are served based on the content of the website. So, a website that contains articles or content on shoes, would display AdSense ads for shoes, shoe accessories and other shoe related products.

AdSense program benefits all the involved parties i.e. advertisers, website owners that show AdSense ads and the website visitors (or consumers) that see the AdSense ads. Advertisers get an easy and effective advertising medium for targeted advertising, website owners get $$$$s for displaying Ads on their websites and the website visitors get a richer experience because the ads that they see are actually related to their field of interest. Google’s AdSense program actually comes as three products: AdSense for content (which is the most popular one), AdSense for search and AdSense for feeds. Currently, AdSense for feeds is in beta testing phase and Google is not accepting any more registrations for it.

However, the other two products are open for registration. These products offer great earning opportunities and if you apply some tricks and tips, you can really see your bank balance swell very fast. Registering on the Google AdSense website is really easy and most people are through with it in 15 minutes straight. Owners of the websites are required to add a small and harmless piece of Google AdSense code to the source code of their web pages and they are ready to start earning revenue automatically without really doing anything more. You can use certain tools (that Google provides for free) in order to customize the Google AdSense ads and make them more suited for your website. Google AdSense program also provides you with various reports about your earnings and the performance of your website. You can even create customized reports that help you in conducting very detailed analysis of what is working (earning good money for you) and what is not. By analyzing these reports, you can formulate new strategies or tweak the existing ones in order to get better results in the future. AdSense program is really one of the smartest ways of earning money and once you understand it fully, you will find that using AdSense Ads for earning a lot of money is not only easy but also a LOT OF FUN.

Earn money without a blog or a website

Yes, it’s possible! At HowHub you can write and post “how-to” articles and earn up to 100% Google Adsense revenue through HowHub. They will initially pay you 50%, but after you refer a few people to join their site they will increase that amount to 100%. That’s what you’d earn from your own website or blog, but without the traffic building fuss! They’ve already got high volumes of traffic, so your articles are more likely to be seen and read by people who actually are there looking for the very information you’ve written. The site is free to join, so there really is no risk – only benefits that come from earning up to 100% Google Adsense revenue. Anyone can do it. There are so many subjects to write about, the possibilities for income are virtually endless. Check out HowHub today and let me know how to goes for you. [EDITOR'S NOTE: This money-making method sounds good for hobbyists and perhaps for people who are looking for one more way to build their reputation online. If you own a site, you can link to it in your HowHub profile, but the links are no-followed - they won't pass PageRank. If you want to build an online business, I strongly recommend that you get your own website and your own memorable domain name and put your energy into promoting YOUR brand, your business, not someone else's. Also, with free services - including free web hosting and free URL redirecting - you run the risk that they will suddenly go broke or be abandoned. Learn from the fate of the many thousands of people who built websites using GeoCities and then were told that GeoCities was folding.]

For most individuals trying to make money on the Internet, the terms money earning website do not apply. Sadly, there are loads of of websites and blogs on the internet these days that never earn a profit. The majority of of these individuals will leave in disappointment, never having made more cash than they spent on their Internet business.

In this article, there are 4 tricks to jumpstart your money earning website so you are not another Internet business failure.

1. Put your emphasis into acquiring back links to your site. A back link is a road leading to your front door.

The person with the largest amount of back links is usually the website receiving the most traffic. You can either acquire traffic, or you can earn it using a mixture of free strategies. In spite of of how you choose to achieve it, do what you need to get your website address on someone else’s website as many times as achievable. While getting back links is a longer term effort, it will create a long term sustainability for your Internet business.

2. Include a sign up form to a free report which you are giving away. Regardless of the type of Web business that you possess, you can apply this approach to your advantage.

Your purpose very basically is to build a list of names and email addresses that you can follow up with in the future. This is an alternative way that you are going to create money off of your website. This mailing list can be worth quite a few thousand dollars to you each month as you cultivate it and learn how to use it correctly.

3. Simplify your website so that it is effortless to get around in. Determine what the focal point of your website is going to be and set up your navigation around this. Offer your clients a way to bookmark your site so they can come back in the future.

4. Cut down the number of items that you are selling. The majority of websites are cluttered with so much information and items that individuals disappear feeling overwhelmed.

If you have a handful of favorite items, then highlight those. You may even go so far as to feature only one product until you are making money, and then put in another one.

The top approach to do that is to promote a product that you have a personal connection to. Then, just tell your guests what you like about the product and why they would enjoy it as well.

Before you rush out and choose your domain name or name your website, you might want to consider the following points:

1. Your Domain Name Should Be Your Website Name

Naming your site after your domain may seem obvious to some of you, but you’ll be surprised to learn that not every website is named after the domain name even when the webmaster owns that domain name.

Naming a site after its domain name is important, for the simple reason that when people think of your website, they’ll think of it by name. If your name is also your URL, they’ll automatically know where to go. For example, when people think of www.earn-money.net they don’t have to wonder what URL to type into their browser to get there. The name of the site is also the URL.

Imagine if your business (or website) is called “Acme”, but somebody else holds that domain name. Instead, you have some obscure domain name called, say, “mybusiness.com”. What happens when your customers, recalling that Acme has a product they want, type “www.acme.com”? They’ll wind up at your competitor’s website. One lost sale.

In the modern world of the Internet, where people automatically turn to the Web for information, it pays to have a domain name that reflects your site or business. There are just fewer things for your customers or visitors to remember. Moreover, you don’t seriously think that they’ll try to memorise an unrelated URL just because you want them to, do you? The only people who’ll memorise it are you and your competitors who want to compare your prices.

What if you cannot get the domain name of your choice? It really depends on how committed you are to that particular name. If you have an existing brand name that you’re known for, you’ll probably not want to ditch that name just because you couldn’t get the domain name. After all, it took you a lot of time and money to establish that name. If so, you might simply want to try to buy over the domain name from the current owner. Check up the “whois” information for the domain, and contact that person listed to see if they’re willing to sell it. You probably should be aware that they are likely to want to charge a higher fee than you’ll normally get when buying new domains (assuming they want to sell it in the first place).

On the other hand, if you’re just starting out, you might prefer the cheaper alternative of trying to obtain a domain name first, and then naming your website (or business) after the domain that you’ve acquired. So if you’ve acquired, say, the domain name “acme.com”, then your website and business might be named “Acme” or “acme.com”. I know this seems a bit like putting the cart before the horse, but that’s the reality if you don’t want to lose out on the Internet.

2. Generic Names Or Brand Name Domains?

I know that a number of people seem to think that your domain name really must be some generic name like “cars.com” if you are selling cars. Witness, for example, how much money those generic names are being sold for. But seriously, if you were looking for a car, you’ll probably already have some brands in mind, and you’re more like to try out things like generalmotors.com or toyota.com rather than just cars.com.

For that reason, I personally feel that a domain name that matches your brand name is very important. The very name that you use to advertise your product is the name that you will want for your domain, because that is the first thing that people will try in their browser. It is also the easiest thing for them to remember, and whatever that is easily remembered, will be more likely to be tried out than the obscure domain name.

3. Long or Short Domain Names?

Domain names can be of any length up to 67 characters. You don’t have to settle for an obscure domain name like avab.com when what you mean is AcmeVideosAndBooks.com.

Having said that, there appears to be some disagreement about whether a long or short domain name is better.

Some argue that shorter domain names are easier to remember, easier to type and far less susceptible to mistakes: for example, “getit.com” is easier to remember and less prone to typos than “connecttomywebsiteandobtainit.com”.

Others argue that a longer domain name is usually easier on the human memory – for example, “gaepw.com” is a sequence of unrelated letters that is difficult to remember and type correctly, whereas if we expand it to its long form, “GetAnEconomicallyPricedWebsite.com”, we are more likely to remember the domain name.

Some of these arguments are actually academic. It’s increasingly difficult to get short meaningful domain names. I have not checked, but I’m fairly certain that names like “getit.com” and “good.com” have long been sold. If you manage to get a short domain name though, the key is to make sure it’s a meaningful combination of characters and not the obscure “gaepw.com” in my contrived example above.

Long domain names that have your site keywords in them also have an advantage in that they fare better in a number of search engines. The latter give preference to keywords that are also found in your domain names. So, for example, if you have a site on free C++ compilers with a domain name like freecpluspluscompilers.com, it might fare better in a search for “free C++ compilers” than my other site, www.earn-money.net

Which would I go for? I’d go for the shorter name if I can get a meaningful one, but I’m not averse to longer names. However, I would probably avoid extremely long names verging on 67 characters. Aside from the obvious problem that people might not be able to remember such a long name, it would also be a chore typing it and trying to fit it as a title on your web page.

4. Hyphenated Names?

Should you get a hyphenated name? There are a few things to consider here:

a. Disadvantage: It’s easy to forget the hyphens when typing a name. Many users are used to typing things like freecpluspluscompilers.com but not free-c-plus-plus-compilers.com. They’ll probably leave out the hyphens and wind up at your competitor’s site.

b. Disadvantage: When people recommend your site to their friends verbally, having hyphens in your domain name leads to more potential errors than when the name does not contain hyphens. For example, how do you think your visitors will refer to your site if it is named “acme-books-and-videos.com”? They might say, “I visited Acme Book and Videos dot com yesterday. It was fabulous.” Their friends, remembering that comment later, might type into their browsers “acmebooksandvideos.com”. Oops.

c. Disadvantage: It’s a pain in the neck to type. Enough said.

d. Advantage: Search engines can distinguish your keywords better and thus return your site more prominently in search results for those keywords occurring in your domain name.

e. Advantage: The non-hyphenated form may no longer be available. At least this way, you still get the domain name you want.

Personally, I prefer to avoid hyphenated names if I can, but I guess it really depends on your domain name and your situation.

5. Plurals, “The”, and “My” Forms of the Domain Name

Very often, if you can’t get the domain name you want, the domain name registrar will suggest alternate forms of the name you typed. For example, if you wanted website.com, and it was taken (of course it is), it might suggest forms like:

and the like, if they were not already taken as well. The question is, should you take them?

My personal opinion is that if you take the “the…” and “my…” forms of the domain name, you must always remember to promote your site with the full form of the name. Otherwise, people are likely to forget to affix the necessary “the” or “my”. For that reason, I always advertise my sites as “and in their full domain name forms, rather than just “Free Country” or “Site Wizard” (without the article).

On the other hand, I would not take the plural form of the domain name (eg, websites.com) if I cannot also get “website.com”, since the chance of the visitor failing to type the “s” in the name is very great. Think about the famous name tussle between etoys.com and etoy.com. Many people wanting to go to etoys.com were apparently going to etoy.com instead. If it happened to them, it can happen to you too.

6. COM, ORG, NET, etc?

One common question I encounter is from people who can’t get the “.com” domain of their choice, but find the “.net”, “.org” or other country-specific top level domains (TLDs) available (like .de, .nu, .sg, etc). Should they try for these?

The answer is not as straightforward as you might think. If your website or business caters to the local community, such as a pizza delivery business or recruitment agency or the like, then it makes sense to get a country-specific domain. You actually benefit from having such a local domain because the people in your country know that they’re dealing with a local entity, which is what they want. After all, if they stay in (say) the United Kingdom, they’re not likely to want to try to order pizza from pizzaparlour.com, which suggests a US or an international site. You’ll have better luck calling it pizzaparlour.co.uk, ie, with a UK domain.

What if yours is a site or business that can benefit from an international audience? There are actually many schools of thought on this. I’ll just mention a few common ones.

The first school of thought goes on the premise that it is better to have a domain name of your choice “myperfectdomain” even if it has a TLD of “.net”, “.org” or some other country specific extension, than to wind up choosing an obscure domain name for the simple reason you can’t get your first choice. Thus they would settle for domain names like “myperfectdomain.de” or “myperfectdomain.net” or whatever. Against this is the argument that if you get a country specific domain, people might think that your business only caters to that country.

Another school of thought finds that “.net” and “.org” extensions are actually quite acceptable domain names. For some, the “.org” extension actually describes the non-profit nature of their organisation. So, for example, the famous Apache web server can be found at “apache.org”.

Others settle for the “.com” extension and no less. As grounds for their arguments, they cite the browser algorithms used to locate a website when a user simply types a name like “acme” into the browser. Apparently, the browser searches for a domain name “acme.com” before attempting “acme.net”, etc. As such, people who do that will be delivered to your competitor’s site if you do not also own the “.com” extension. Indeed, even if people do not rely on their browser to complete their typing, many simply assume a “.com” extension when they type a domain name, so if your business is “Acme”, they’ll just assume your domain name is “acme.com” rather than “acme.net” or some other such name.

As you can see, there are actually good grounds for accepting any of the above views. My personal footnote to the above arguments is that if you get a domain name with an extension other than “.com”, make sure that you promote your business or website with the full domain name. For example, if your domain name is “dogandcatfood.net”, make sure that when you advertise your site or business, call it “dogandcatfood.net” not “dogandcatfood”. Otherwise people will assume a “.com” extension and travel to the wrong place.

7. In Conclusion…

In case the forest got lost in the trees (or the reverse) in my arguments here, let me reiterate the main point of this article: get that domain name before you start your site or business.

Don’t make the mistake of attempting to retrofit your domain name to your business or website. did not originally start out with that name, and I encountered as a result of the URL changes. Don’t make that mistake too.

If you need help getting that domain name, check out my other article on how to register a domain name. In that article, I also include a list of some registrars that you can use, distinguishing the well-established ones from the less established but cheap ones (so you have a wider choice, depending on what is important to you).
The search engines has been known to reward blogs who are reputable and are of quality with free endless stream of new visitors everyday, however, what about blog owners in the other end who aren’t as reputable, and are not the brightest of SEO?

8 Reasons Why Your Blog Isn’t Seeing Search Engine Results

Don’t worry, it isn’t like the search engines single handily pick out blogs that they simply don’t like. The search engine’s objective is to display the most relevant, popularized results for a certain search term, and they will do just that.

You don’t have fresh, valuable, handwritten content to offer.

Your site is new.

Your not link building enough.

Your not considering on-page optimization.

Your targeting keywords that are too competitive.

Your not updating your blog like you used to be. Your getting lazy.

You are too impatient and unpredictable.

Site does not follow the webmaster guidelines.

1.) You don’t have fresh, valuable, handwritten content to offer.

Google and any other search engine would agree that they really hate duplicate content that was just copy and pasted off somewhere else because first off, it isn’t helpful, nor is it offering anything new to the table, but just cluttering their search engine results. That is why fresh unique content is important for search engines as well as users whether or not duplicate content penalties exist or not.

2.) Your site is new.

Don’t expect a miracle once you start your website thinking that you would start ranking high immediately. There is a process or should I say a phase that most search engines undergo new websites until they have enough “data” to say, this site offers really good content and respectively rank them higher. This process can take over 1-4 months for the search engines to develop depending on how knowledgeable you are in the SEO field. There is no short cuts in terms of ranking quickly. It is more of a mixture of link building, on-page optimization, and much more, which determines your site’s rankings.

3.) Your not link building enough.

Search engines uses the number and the quality of the links linking to you to emphasize how important a page is to respectively increase their rankings in the search engines. If you are not seeing any significant increase in your search engine rankings, it could be due to the lack of link building. If your site is new, I recommend building links little by little in a continuous stair way pattern that slowly builds up, to ensure that your site doesn’t look “odd” to the search engines. The early stages of a new web site is it’s most vulnerable stage to facing deadly consequences because the search engines has no data or “trust” on your site just yet.

4.) Your not considering on-page optimization.

We don’t want to start a whole body paragraph on on-page optimization due to the fact that we already made a post on the 14 Effective Search Engine Optimization Tips regarding on-page optimization. Follow these tips and we promise that you will see improvement.

5.) Your targeting keywords that are too competitive.

If you just started your blog just a few days ago, don’t expect to be ranking even somewhat close for the keyword “Make Money Online” or any other money keyword. Slowly devour smaller keywords and build from the bottom up because remember, if your site is still in it’s early stages, the search engines are still trying to gather enough information on your website to rank them respectively. So until then, it may be hard to rank until the later stages where you can build more links without worrying about getting any “odd” penalization.

6.) Your not updating your blog like you used to be. Your getting lazy.

Don’t forget that search engines are here to give your content exposure, and if you stop giving content, they will stop giving your site exposure as well. Readily updating your site, even if it is a minor change, at least once a month is a given.

7.) You are too impatient and unpredictable.

Your simply unpredictable when it comes to committing to your website. It can be discouraging at first due to the fact that having a website on it’s early stages, it can be hard to rank, but after the initial stages, it pays off. If you aren’t the type of person who can commit without even having the slightest incentive to motivate you for the first few months, then perhaps search engine optimization isn’t the right job for you.

8.) Site does not follow the webmaster guidelines.

Ensuring that your website follows Google’s webmaster guidelines is a must if you want to get into good hands with Google. If you won’t compile to their guidelines, then you will simply not be listed in Google’s index. They take quality seriously and you should too if you want to rank well. Put everything into that one site and show them what your made out of in terms of building a quality reputable site from scratch.

Knowing When Pop-Ups Can Harm Sales

There are 3 reasons why I like using pop-ups, and 3 reasons why I don’t like to use pop-ups. Currently, you might have seen that our blog use a WordPress plugin called the Action pop-up, personally, I don’t really like it. To be honest, who likes pop-ups anyways right? If it weren’t for the purpose of increasing sales, leads, I would have deactivated that plugin like it was no other. (seriously) Pop-ups are like those pop-up Christmas cards I get every year. They are only for a one time use to only surprise the other person for the first time, but after that, it can be overly annoying when visiting your favorite web page even if it is just a click of a ‘X’ button.

The Reasons Why I Like Pop-Ups

Increase audience focus on a particular page.

Increase sales and conversions.

Gives readers something to look at when first entering a page.

The Reasons Why I Don’t like Pop-Ups

They can be annoying if your a returning viewer.

Webmasters sometimes use them to the “excessive” point.

It looks ugly. (My preference)

However, in the end, pop-ups really out weigh my dislikes about them. Simply because not only do they offer straight cut content for your new readers to read, it generally sparks sales and leads once you have some killer content already set up for your newer audience. I’ll start to talk about when pop-ups begin to harm sales.

Knowing When Pop-Ups Can Harm Sales

Once you have your first pop-up installed and you begin to think to use even more add-on pop-ups like under pop-ups, tab pop-ups, peel aways, whatever, that is really when you are starting to dilute your site’s reputation. Of course pop-ups can be really cool with their flashy sales pitch, however, the most pop-ups that I believe a general Blogger should use is about 1, and that can still be annoying already to viewers. Having your visitors to press about 3 ‘X’ buttons the moment they visit a page, is not really the way to go, and probably doesn’t fit Google’s idea of quality in their guidelines either.

In my opinion, Internet marketers and sales pages have a different stance on cleverly incorporating pop-ups to their advantage. They have a wide range of pop-ups that they can use at one time, without it really seeming “spammy.”

Exit pop-ups

Talk to a live speaker pop-up

Normal pop-ups

Peel Away Ads

But that is just my opinion on sales pitches and blogs. What do you guys think is the “excessive” point for a blog and a sales pitch in terms of using how many pop-ups? Think of John Chow’s blog for an example of a blog using more than one pop-up. Do you think it is overly aggressive or is it just perfect?

Blogging business is getting huge by the day, some years back it was an altogether a different story, even if you didn’t do well in your job there were takers but now the scenario has changed with so much of competition around the place you cannot afford to miss out on serving nothing but the best services. Blogs are just not the end things, but this is the future of electronic media, you have to understand this importance and take few desirable steps that will make you a successful blogger. Following are some of the things you can apply in your blogs to grab the upper most position in networks:

The about page – you have set up a good blogs website and have enough number of articles too on your page but imagine how someone will feel if they are coming to the site for the very first time and they see the “About us” page blank or filled with utter shit. It’s very important to put up a good about page in your site so that your followers would understand your purpose and your objectives. Make it impressive so that the readers keep coming back to your site. The about page should contain the following:

You should state the reason for your site; explain what is the blog all about. Write creatively that will force them coming back to you, the best you could do is to tell them the benefits of reading your blog.

Write detailed information about yourself, the blogger. People are more interested to read more of you when they know you personally, so try to build personal connection with them by letting them know your life history, the purpose, etc. and if possible your photo too.

Don’t forget to put your contact information on the website, even if you don’t like putting it in about page, at least make a point that you direct a link to another page where you can state your information.

Make people coming back to you – we are all aware of RSS feeds and readers, some people might be not aware of it, you can put in options near the sidebar where people can subscribe to your mailers or even have the option to mail you. Just giving the subscription tag is not enough, you got to convince people to subscribe to your RSS and email feeds. Key in some attractive words that will force them to subscribe to your feeds.

Attractive content – No one likes to read boring stories, people like to read more of current events, something they will gain knowledge from. Keep your blog design simple, make it look clutter free, people should enjoy while browsing the pages of the site. Don’t make complex outlay that will let them in confusion for even searching for some content. Remember, in the blogging world, it is the quality that matters and not the design part. Here are some of the things you should remember while designing your blog design:

Make your blog website look simple, simplicity will attract more readers, they aren’t interested in seeing the design but to read the content. You can make arrangements so that it becomes easier for them to read over the site like using bigger fonts, normal text, etc.

Make sure to put your text in black color with the white back ground, people are used to read in such combination so make them feel comfortable while they are reading on your site.

Your blog should be flexible in the sense that you should be able to make necessary changes whenever needed like embedding some image, putting some sponsor impressions, etc.

Create a blog community – Just designing and putting your content on the site is not enough, blog is a social media through which you are putting your thoughts in to writing and people across are reading it, so the same way as you talk through your writings, the people across might also want to say something. Interaction will lead to more ideas and help you improve better, you can create your online community through which your readers can exchange views and give suggestions, if any. You can create your community by:

The best way to get communication going is by asking open ended questions at the end of your blog, this will encourage people to talk to you, giving you suggestions, etc.

Make use of threaded comments, this will encourage more readers to reply to a conversation or a comment thus helping you grow your popularity.

You can reward your regular commentators who are active on your site, you can put up a commentators plug-in which will help them get a back link to their site which can increase traffic on their site, its like a give and take relationship.

Don’t forget to respond to the comments, suggestions by your readers, by replying them you are letting them know that they are important and their suggestions are getting heard.

Content Rules – As we well know that content is the king in blogging world, no one can take its superior position other than the more supreme content itself. You are doing your level best to attract crowd but at initial stages you might not find people reading your blogs much, given below are some of the tricks which will help you improve on your content:

Write something resourceful, if you are writing on news, note that there are other thousands of people speaking the same thing over news channels or radio, etc. you can write something that will be helpful to people.

Make use of attractive and impressive headlines that will let people coming to your blogs and reading them, make simple and sophisticated statements, and think creatively.

Whatever might be old to you might be new to someone else, even after years of writing, people find old novels so interesting the same scenario is with blogs. You just have to create that niche of writing creatively.

Make sure to update your blogs on a regular basis, don’t keep your old blogs on the first page for too long, keep updating on a daily basis and try to put in fresh, interesting content for your readers.

Backlinks are what some people would call the Holy Grail of getting traffic to a site, be it a blog or a simple static website. Some backlinks are easy to get: bloggers like to comment on other blogs, they like to link out, they are grouped in bigger or smaller communities based on their interests and topics they write about. However, not all backlinks are alike. The ones that matter most for your blog are not the ones anchored on your name. Why would people search for your name online? Well, if your name is Paris Hilton or Sarah Palin, there’s another story. But for the rest of us, with common names, such backlinks barely contribute to promoting our site in Google’s SERPs for those relevant keywords which define what our site is about.

How to Get Backlinks

Get backlinks in any way you can. Find other bloggers in your niche, write about their blogs and they’d return you the favor and write about yours. Submit your site to web directories. Write articles for ezines. Ask your mother to start a blog and teach her how to link to you. Buy links. Get social. However, you may find this difficult, especially if you write about topics in very narrow niches such as “how to pass the thread through the needle’s eye with your cat jumping on your back”. If you ever tried that, you already know how complicated this can be. Jim also knows it and blogs about it. But how can you meet Jim and others like him?

Where to Meet Bloggers Like You

Imagine that you are not the only one in your nice trying to find backlinks for your blog. All you need is somebody to connect you with your peers. This role is very well accomplished by private networks like ConnectContent, a network where webmasters with common interests congregate. Since Jane wants to link to my blog because she finds it related to what she writes about, why can’t I tell Jane what anchor I want her to use for that link? Conversely, since I appreciate the writings of John, why not ask him what anchors he desires for the links I’m going to give him anyway?

This is the role of ConnectContent: to bring webmasters closer together, while allowing them to express their linking needs. It’s like online dating for websites.

Once a member, you can have as many backlinks as you want, provided that you give back to the community the same link value.

Membership is only $12 per month, or $120 per year. However, you can easily make your money back, and even some more, by using the affiliate program which gives you a generous 50% share for each new member you refer.

If you are not yet convinced by the power of finding good backlinks, please check out the following chart: this is the statistic for a website which is built almost entirely of duplicate content, and which has stalled for almost one year. In September 2008 we started to get more active in that niche, we found linking partners, we got links anchored on the keywords we wanted, then in less than two months the effect was visible. Now, with the help of ConnectContent, finding partners will be easier.

Who doesn’t love experiments? They are the engine for progress, so if you want to go big, you should get out of your daily routine and do something different. See what happens, measure the outcome, then use this feedback to improve your work. I can give you a funny example: last week, I wanted to see how well I could sell some Michael Jackson Halloween costumes, so I put up some blog posts and waited. Within a couple of hours, my blogs were already ranking well, I was getting a lot of traffic (I still am), the click rate was impressive, yet I made no money. Do you want to know why? All Michael Jackson costumes are out of stock already! It took me two days to figure out what was wrong with my posts.

Nonetheless, I’m happy that my cookie is already in so many computers, that I feel like I’m going to see a lot of sales for Halloween costumes this year.
