1. The about page – you have set up a good blogs website and have enough number of articles too on your page but imagine how someone will feel if they are coming to the site for the very first time and they see the “About us” page blank or filled with utter shit. It’s very important to put up a good about page in your site so that your followers would understand your purpose and your objectives. Make it impressive so that the readers keep coming back to your site. The about page should contain the following:
   1. You should state the reason for your site; explain what is the blog all about. Write creatively that will force them coming back to you, the best you could do is to tell them the benefits of reading your blog.
   2. Write detailed information about yourself, the blogger. People are more interested to read more of you when they know you personally, so try to build personal connection with them by letting them know your life history, the purpose, etc. and if possible your photo too.
   3. Don’t forget to put your contact information on the website, even if you don’t like putting it in about page, at least make a point that you direct a link to another page where you can state your information.
2. Make people coming back to you – we are all aware of RSS feeds and readers, some people might be not aware of it, you can put in options near the sidebar where people can subscribe to your mailers or even have the option to mail you. Just giving the subscription tag is not enough, you got to convince people to subscribe to your RSS and email feeds. Key in some attractive words that will force them to subscribe to your feeds.
3. Attractive content – No one likes to read boring stories, people like to read more of current events, something they will gain knowledge from. Keep your blog design simple, make it look clutter free, people should enjoy while browsing the pages of the site. Don’t make complex outlay that will let them in confusion for even searching for some content. Remember, in the blogging world, it is the quality that matters and not the design part. Here are some of the things you should remember while designing your blog design:
   1. Make your blog website look simple, simplicity will attract more readers, they aren’t   interested in seeing the design but to read the content. You can make arrangements so that it becomes easier for them to read over the site like using bigger fonts, normal text, etc.
   2. Make sure to put your text in black color with the white back ground, people are used to read in such combination so make them feel comfortable while they are reading on your site.
   3. Your blog should be flexible in the sense that you should be able to make necessary changes whenever needed like embedding some image, putting some sponsor impressions, etc.
4. Create a blog community – Just designing and putting your content on the site is not enough, blog is a social media through which you are putting your thoughts in to writing and people across are reading it, so the same way as you talk through your writings, the people across might also want to say something. Interaction will lead to more ideas and help you improve better, you can create your online community through which your readers can exchange views and give suggestions, if any. You can create your community by:
   1. The best way to get communication going is by asking open ended questions at the end of your blog, this will encourage people to talk to you, giving you suggestions, etc.
   2. Make use of threaded comments, this will encourage more readers to reply to a conversation or a comment thus helping you grow your popularity.
   3. You can reward your regular commentators who are active on your site, you can put up a commentators plug-in which will help them get a back link to their site which can increase traffic on their site, its like a give and take relationship.
   4. Don’t forget to respond to the comments, suggestions by your readers, by replying them you are letting them know that they are important and their suggestions are getting heard.
5. Content Rules – As we well know that content is the king in blogging world, no one can take its superior position other than the more supreme content itself. You are doing your level best to attract crowd but at initial stages you might not find people reading your blogs much, given below are some of the tricks which will help you improve on your content:
   1. Write something resourceful, if you are writing on news, note that there are other thousands of people speaking the same thing over news channels or radio, etc. you can write something that will be helpful to people.
   2. Make use of attractive and impressive headlines that will let people coming to your blogs and reading them, make simple and sophisticated statements, and think creatively.
   3. Whatever might be old to you might be new to someone else, even after years of writing, people find old novels so interesting the same scenario is with blogs. You just have to create that niche of writing creatively.

Make sure to update your blogs on a regular basis, don’t keep your old blogs on the first page for too long, keep updating on a daily basis and try to put in fresh, interesting content for your readers.

I have a buddy who started niche blogging about 2 months ago. He bought all new domains, and started making money with adsense in less than 2 weeks of putting his first site up. If you were to ask him now if this is easy, he would say yes, and that it just takes some time. If you were to ask him 2 months ago if this is an easy way to make money online, he might tell you that it seems like a lot to remember.

In reality there are just a few simple things that get you to making money within a relatively short period of time. I have been using these basic techniques over and over and over again to make money within a week or 2 of putting up a brand new site with a brand new domain. And here they are.

• Buy a domain with keywords in the name if possible.
• Use a very basic theme with very few flashy graphics if all possible.
• Use keywords that you can rank for in the titles of your posts.
• Use multiple rich keywords within your posts that will give you variations of searches.
• Get anchor text links for the terms you are trying to rank for.

If you follow these basic principles, you will make money, as long as you are not going after niches that will take you years to rank for.

On a completely differen’t note, there is something that I always find people doing that bothers me quite a bit. Using ezine articles to get links is one of the best things a person can do, but so often people hurt themselves when they use ezine articles.

Since EzineArticles has so much authority and clout and lots of love from Google, they seem to rank for quite a few terms. If you are going to get a link from them, why would you use the term you are trying to rank for in an Ezine Article’s title? Why people do this and create more competition for themselves beats me. If you do this with all the places you write to get links from then please stop right away. You don’t have to use the exact title to create more competition for yourself. Let me give you an example.

Lets say that I wanted to rank for how to make money online with ezine articles. Would I go to ezine and then write an article with the exact title how to make money online with ezine articles? Of course not. First of all the keywords ezine articles are already held with authority by ezinearticles.com, and second I would just be creating another entity that would be competing with me even though I am still using it to give myself a link. The content is fine to use similar words that are related to making money online with ezine, but the title is probably the most prominent piece in helping a site rank for specific keywords, so it would be a lot better to make your title Ezine articles is another way to bring in cash. While Google can very much associate the title as well as the content with what you are writing about, it does not use the exact kewyords you are trying to rank for, thus helping you out the same as far as your link goes, but not infringing on your ranking strategy.

Back to what we were originally talking about. Making money on the internet easily and fast. Well as far as the fast part goes, it won’t get fast for you until you have built an array of sites or until you have all your resources lined up like ducks. Once you have everything in place, and you get a good grasp then the rest is like butter.

The multicolored cards are definitely going to catch the eye of anyone you hand them to, and they also do a great job at highlighting the most important thing on the card: your new number. And while you may not be too keen to have everyone start calling you rather than using Email (which is going to be one of the side effects), you can always take advantage of Google Voice’s automatic voicemail transcription.

The widget, found here, allows you to enter any search query, along with a title and a caption. The widget will then be built next to the input fields so you can see what it looks like. You can also edit its color and dimensions. If you like it, you simply grab the code and put it on a webpage. From there, it will continuously update in real-time with new results from the query you set.

You can even do more advanced searches using parameters like “OR”. In their example widget, Twitter uses the following search string “San Francisco OR @sf OR #sf” to make a live-updating San Francisco Twitter Search widget. And you can also loop old results if you’re doing a search for something that will have a low volume of tweets, so the widget doesn’t appear so static.

So when I saw an email from the company’s PR person this evening, I had high hopes to be entertained. They didn’t let me down.

SearchMe

The search engine first launched in March 2008, and has raised around $44 million in venture capital. Sequoia Capital has backed them from the start, beginning with a $400,000 seed round in 2005.

SearchMe has an innovative visual approach to search that lets users scroll through screen snapshots quickly. It is particularly appealing on the iPhone, and has been one of my favorite apps since launching late last year. It’s something that is just perfect for a mobile device with a large touchscreen.

Barcelona-based dotopen has launched its B2B communication platform in public beta today in another attempt to create a successful matchmaking service for businesses where decision makers could come to collaborate and connect with each other.

We’ve heard that a million times before, but I got an early peak of the platform when I was in Spain for the Mobile 2.0 Europe conference last month and there is one thing that I think differentiates dotopen from the likes of LinkedIn, XING, etc.: it’s not so much focused on connecting people in companies than it is to provide an up-to-date, stream of information on the company itself and start from there.

When I got the demo, I immediately thought of it like some sort of ‘FriendFeed for companies’, and the startup’s founders Rudy De Waele and Carles Ferreiro said there are effectively some comparisons to be made in that regard.
